Organic Flaxseed is commonly used to improve digestive health or relieve constipation. Flaxseed may also help lower total blood cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or "bad") cholesterol levels, which may help reduce the risk of heart disease. Flaxseeds are very versatile and can be eaten hot or cold, in smoothies and porridge, soups and cakes. We just put a teaspoon in a 2 cups of warm water with lime and a dash of flur de sal, shake it up, let it stand a few minutes and glup it down first thing in the morning. I like the nutty flavor.
If you're making one flax egg, combine one tablespoon of flaxseed meal and three tablespoons of water and allow to sit for about 5 minutes. From here, you can add this ingredient to your recipe just as you would an egg. We grind the fresh flaxseed in a coffee grinder.
